Dr Mikaela Manning, B.Chiro

My mission is to assist you, your family and the community to achieve vibrant health with excellent chiropractic care. I endeavor to create a community of health happy well-adjusted families.

Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, U.S.A. My undergraduate degree is from Syracuse University, New York. I majored in fine arts with a minor in business studies. Upon graduation, I traveled the world for a year exploring places such as New Zealand, Australia, Asia, Mid East, Africa, and Europe. I ended my tour in Limerick, Ireland. In Ireland, I was a sales representative for New Vistas Homeopathic Company. This afforded me an opportunity to experience alternative forms of healing and mingle with a variety of health and wellness practitioners.

Chiropractic was Calling!

In 2003, I returned to the USA and pursued a career in art and design as a Corporate Art Consultant. Throughout my years as an art consultant, my passion for wellness and natural health lead me to explore chiropractic. I arrived to the chiropractor complaining of unrelenting back pain and left experiencing relief and guidance that my body had the ability to heal, repair, and flourish if my nervous system was functioning optimally. As I continued with care, I began to see changes within my overall health and wellbeing. I was no longer satisfied with art consulting. Chiropractic was calling! In 2005, I crossed the Pacific Ocean to commence my journey as a chiropractor and begin training at New Zealand College of Chiropractic.

While studying, I contributed to the international chiropractic community as a delegate for the World Congress of Chiropractic Students in 2005. In 2009, as a volunteer for Hands on Health Australia, myself and a team of 7 chiropractors journeyed around the Philippines providing chiropractic care to impoverished communities.

I have a variety of interests ranging from sailing, swimming, tennis, soccer, rugby, skiing, yoga, organic cooking, reading, and research.

Dr. Kelly Asks some important questions of interest to Mt Eden residents - Chiropractor Mt Eden Dr. Kelly Asks...

Do nerves actually get pinched?
Chiropractors recognise two types of nerve disorders involved in subluxation. The least common is a pinched nerve that diminishes nerve supply to an affected organ or tissue. More common is the irritated nerve (facilitative lesion) which overexcites nerve communications to an affected organ or tissue. Chiropractic care has been shown to help with both types.
Why are chiropractors wary of the germ theory?
Louis Pasteur originated the idea that germs caused disease. Yet, on his deathbed he recanted, declaring, "It's not the seed, but the soil." Meaning, it's not the germ that causes disease, but the condition of the body that allows the germ to thrive. Chiropractic care in our Mt Eden office is designed to bolster your resistance so germs don't see you as a good host.
