Unlike many in the profession, when Dr. Georgina Compton decided to become a chiropractor, neither she nor her family had ever experienced chiropractic care.

“I had no idea that chiropractic has helped millions of people worldwide. The philosophy of chiropractic just made complete sense to me.” says Dr. Compton.

Unsure what Direction to Take

At the time she was studying Health Sciences at the University of Canterbury, as she knew that she wanted to be in the health care profession, but was unsure of which direction to take.

Chiropractic Education and Training

Within months of being introduced to Chiropractic at a careers evening Dr. Georgina was on a plane to Auckland and was accepted into the New Zealand College of Chiropractic.  Dr. Georgina also completed her Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Psychology, while studying for her Bachelor of Chiropractic.

With the equivalent of 8 years of full time study behind her, Dr. Compton is highly qualified in many areas of the Health Sciences.  Courses of study include Biochemistry, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Diagnosis, X-ray, Psychology and Chiropractic Adjusting Techniques.

Dr. Compton also attends regular seminars to keep her up to date with the latest research and newest developments in Chiropractic.

I See Miracles Every Day!

“I am so blessed to have chosen a profession that really helps people regain their health and improve their quality of life with a natural approach.  I see miracles every day.  Chiropractic was, and continues to be, the perfect career choice for me.”

Dr. Kelly Asks some important questions of interest to Mt Eden residents - Chiropractor Mt Eden Dr. Kelly Asks...

Do nerves actually get pinched?
Chiropractors recognise two types of nerve disorders involved in subluxation. The least common is a pinched nerve that diminishes nerve supply to an affected organ or tissue. More common is the irritated nerve (facilitative lesion) which overexcites nerve communications to an affected organ or tissue. Chiropractic care has been shown to help with both types.
Why are chiropractors wary of the germ theory?
Louis Pasteur originated the idea that germs caused disease. Yet, on his deathbed he recanted, declaring, "It's not the seed, but the soil." Meaning, it's not the germ that causes disease, but the condition of the body that allows the germ to thrive. Chiropractic care in our Mt Eden office is designed to bolster your resistance so germs don't see you as a good host.
